United Women in Faith (formerly UMW)

United Women in Faith is the largest denominational faith organization for women whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice.

United Women in Faith and The United Methodist Church's principles and values include:

Promoting the empowerment of women, children and youth.

Promoting anti-racism and multiculturalism.

Promoting inclusion and equity.

Promoting fair labor practices.

Promoting economic and environmental stewardship and sustainability.

We are turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world.

Our Purpose

United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

NEJ 2024: The Northeastern Jurisdiction event “Get Together” will be held April 18-21, 2024, in Providence, RI. There is still time to register for what is to be a fantastic experience with the featured keynote speaker Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie. Hope to see you there!

Conference 2024 Spring Event, please save the date Saturday, May 4, 2024, which will be held at New United Methodist Church, Chester, MD. It is hosted by the Upper Shore District United Women in Faith, Emma Johnson, President. More information at a later date.

Mission u 2024 will be held July 20, 2024, at Maritime Convention Center, Linthicum Heights, MD, additional information will be available soon, save the date. We are again collaborating with the Baltimore-Washington Conference to bring a spectacular study experience.
