Severe weather passed through Northern Delaware on August 7th delivering straight-line wind damage to communities like Hockessin and Newark.  Most of the damage is wind-related.

There are over 40 properties reported to have been damaged. 19 of these homes have been deemed unsafe to enter.

Several faith groups and response groups like UMCOR are working to clear properties and assist homeowners affected by the storm. There has been coordination with State Emergency Management and New Castle County Emergency Management to establish areas of greatest need.

Future volunteer dates will be posted on the Northern Delaware Storm Relief page.
